Community Connectors: October Updates

SAP Connector Enhancements: Boost Performance and Efficiency
SAP OData Connector:
- Long-Running Actions: Say goodbye to request time limits! Our new HTTP Offload Proxy enables long-running actions for handling large datasets and complex operations with ease. A new “Extract bulk data” action provides extended support for longer response times, similar to “Search Object.”
SAP RFC Connector:
- Real-time Schema Refresh: Keep your integrations up-to-date effortlessly. OPA v25 and later now automatically fetches the latest RFC/BAPI/IDoc schemas from your SAP system in real-time. Simply click “Refresh” in the recipe editor – no more OPA restarts required! This ensures accurate data handling and avoids errors caused by schema changes in your SAP backend.
- Optimized Connection Pooling: Enjoy better performance and resource management with our enhanced connection pooling for Cloud profiles. New configuration parameters – “Connection pool capacity” and “Connection peak limit” – let you fine-tune connection management for optimal throughput and responsiveness, especially during peak usage.
Builder Experience
Greater Flexibility for Teams Workbot – New Message Trigger
Workbot for Microsoft Teams is getting a major boost with the New Message trigger! This allows your bot to listen to any message sent via DM or channel mention, enabling you to build Workbots that can react and respond to natural language. This trigger opens up greater possibilities for automation and engagement when coupled with AI powered workflows using OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Bedrock and Google Vertex.
This feature is available in public beta for both Standard and Enterprise Workbot users.
How it works:
- Start with the “New Message” trigger. That’s it! No extra configuration needed to get your bot listening.
- Fine-tune with trigger conditions. Want your bot to respond only to direct messages or specific channels? Use trigger conditions to filter incoming messages.
- Use the “Post message” action to reply. After your bot processes the message (using any recipe logic you’ve created), use this action to send a response back to the user.
Ensure quality and confidence in every deployment with reviews & approvals
Now in private beta

Here’s how it works:
- Ensure Quality: Implement required reviews to guarantee only the right changes go live.
- Simplify Collaboration: Provide clear, actionable feedback by commenting directly on deployments and assets.
- Maintain Control: Assign approvers to ensure the right experts oversee and validate changes.
- Stay Transparent: Monitor every step with comprehensive activity and audit logs for complete visibility.

Boost API security with custom authorization claims
Now in private beta
API custom authorization allows you to enforce an additional set of authorization claims on API endpoints. Workato’s API Gateway evaluates the custom authorization expression after an API request is made to an endpoint and authenticated with a valid token. This feature adds an extra layer of security by enabling you to create additional role-based access control, locale restriction, and business logic rules.
Stay tuned for November
