Utility Connectors
Automate PDF Manipulation with PyPDF Library & IDP
The Python connector now includes the PyPDF library, enabling powerful PDF manipulation within your Workato recipes. You can now read, write, split, merge, and extract text from PDFs programmatically, reducing reliance on external tools and streamlining document-heavy workflows. This update also enhances integration with Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), unlocking use cases like document splitting, selective page processing, and keyword-based extraction.Â

Boost Performance with MessagePack Serialization for JavaScript & Python
Workato has completed the migration of JavaScript and Python connectors to MessagePack serialization format. This change improves efficiency and allows for handling non-UTF8 encoded data, expanding the capabilities of these connectors.
Maximize Efficiency with Batch Actions in the Data Tables Connector
The Data Tables connector now supports batch actions for creating, updating, and deleting records. This significantly improves efficiency and reduces task consumption by eliminating the need for looping in recipes. Create, update, and delete records in batches for more efficient task consumption.
Workflow Apps
Introducing Multi-Value Columns in Data Tables
We’re thrilled to announce a powerful new feature for Workflow Apps: multi-value columns! This enhancement allows you to store multiple values within a single column. Previously, forms with multi-select options, like those used for application provisioning or resource requests, often required a separate column for each selection, indicating whether it was chosen or not. This could quickly consume the available column limit, restricting the complexity and flexibility of your forms. With multi-value columns, you can now capture multiple choices within a single column, streamlining your data structure and making your apps more efficient.
Design questions that accommodate multiple answers, tag records with multiple labels for better organization, and filter records with greater precision based on specific values within the multi-value column. You can also use multi-value columns in SQL Transformations with Data Tables as a source.
đź’ˇTo get started, choose the “Multi-select” option when creating a new column and specify the desired value type. This update helps you build more powerful and versatile Workflow Apps.Learn more about how Workato keeps your data secure.
Builder Experience
New Recipe Widget: Seamless Embedding for Partners
A new Recipe Widget allows for embedding a streamlined view of a recipe page within another product via iframe. This widget removes non-essential elements while preserving core functionality. Embed partners now have even more control of embedding the recipe experience, while still maintaining their own navigation customer experience.
Custom Job Report Validation: Enhanced Security & AccuracyÂ
Custom job reports now include validation to prevent errors and security risks. This improvement ensures accurate configurations (e.g., alerts for referencing nonexistent data pills or incorrect formulas) and prevents the unintentional exposure of sensitive data. This is communicated through a warning with a detailed error explanation.
Operations & Governance
