Coupa integrations with NetSuite powered by Workato – Procure To Order
This is an extension of our earlier blog post about Workato’s new Coupa connector. Check it out over here.
Coupa is a cloud based business spend management platform that extends the ability of traditional ERP systems like SAP, NetSuite and Oracle EBS. With procurement, invoicing and expensing modules in traditional ERP systems lacking the usability required to drive true business value, Coupa remains a leader in this space by leveraging on the power of an intuitive user interface built on the cloud and seamless integration capabilities.
Workato’s Coupa connector allows you integrate Coupa closely with your existing ERP system for Procure To Pay, Procure To Order and Expense Management purposes. Read on to find out you can use Workato to integrate Coupa and NetSuite for your Procure to Order processes as well as links to readily available Workato Recipes that you can copy over to your account.
While we use NetSuite as our ERP system in these examples, keep in mind that these could be any other ERP system such as SAP or Oracle EBS.
When using Coupa and NetSuite, one pain point is always the maintenance of a master lists of account data, supplier data and supplier item catalogs between the two applications as data needs to be entered twice. Workato allows you to eliminate this by setting up a simple recipe that sends data between NetSuite and Coupa so data entered in either platform syncs regularly with the other.
With all business data in sync between NetSuite and Coupa, requisitions become a matter of adding items to your cart on Coupa and submitting them for approval – similar to shopping online. After the requisition is made on Coupa and approved, Workato can send the purchase order so you’ll always have purchase order data in both Coupa and your NetSuite. You’ll also be able to log the receipt of ordered goods on Coupa and send those receipts over to NetSuite via Workato.
When suppliers generate invoices and your accounts team make payment, a recipe on Workato can close the purchase order on Coupa. This ensures that data integrity is maintained and reporting on Coupa can be done with minimal effort.
